Thank you for your interest in Linnea Photography. I’m glad you’re here! I hope this page serves as a helpful guide as you consider Linnea Photography for your newborn session. For my newborn and maternity pricing, please check out my investment page. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
What to Expect
Since it’s unpredictable when your baby will arrive, I will book off time before and after your due date. Once your baby has arrived, we can schedule a finalized date for the session 4-8 days after your baby has arrived. These sessions take place in our home studio or in the comfort of your home and are generally scheduled Friday-Sunday around 9 or 10 am.
In order to reserve your session date, a non-refundable deposit of $100 is required at the time of the booking as well as a completed session agreement. This deposit will be deducted from the session fee and the remaining balance is due at the session. For schedule purposes, it is recommended to book in advance (during the second trimester) to reserve your spot.
I love to post sneak peaks on my Facebook page, so make sure you don’t miss it! 1-2 weeks following your session, pictures will be posted to an online gallery to download your images. A print release form will be provided on the day of session for printing purposes.
On the day of your session, I will bring an assortment of props to your home including blankets, baskets, hats and headbands. If there are any colors you prefer, please let me know ahead of time so I can plan accordingly. You are welcome to add any personal props too! Sessions typically take up to two hours sometimes with a feeding break in between.
While I try to be as efficient as possible, please plan for up to two hours for the session with a feeding break. If it is a part of your purchased package, we will photograph the newborn first and then will incorporate sibling and family pictures. The family pictures tend to be best in the nursery, master bedroom or living room depending on lighting (think sliding glass doors and large windows). Please don’t feel the need to clean up for the session. I may need to move a few things out of the way, but don’t worry, I always put it back!
How to prepare
Before my arrival, please make sure the baby is well fed with a full belly, so they will be sleepy and content. If possible, it is helpful to have a bottle prepared and a pacifier handy (if you use either), so that when transitioning from pose to pose, we can soothe the baby back to sleep if necessary.
I know that babies like to be warm, so I’ll bring a heater to help provide a comforting environment. I will bring a noise app to help drown out any extra sounds, but please try to maintain a calm setting that’s conducive for keeping the baby asleep. 🙂
I’m so excited to meet you and your little baby. Your baby is in good hands. Thank you for considering Linnea Photography. Please don’t hesitate to contact me for any questions or concerns.
